Maritime institutions have got a compelling new reason to use Transas equipment for their GMDSS training programmes. The company’s TGS 5000 GMDSS simulator has earned the DNV Statement of Compliance as Class A Radio Communication Simulator according to DNV Standard No. 2.14, October 2007. Greek-owned Gleamray Maritime has decided to shift to paperless navigation well ahead of the entry into force of the ECDIS carriage requirement (1st January 2011 for new ships, phased-in implementation for existing ones).
