As our visitors may have noticed, Marine Café Blog is sporting a brand-new look. It’s now also mobile-friendly. With more and more people using their mobile devices to access the Internet, the revamp was a technical imperative.

One recent study indicates that smartphones and tablets altogether account for 38% of all web pages served around the world. It’s the Mobile Age. One has to wonder why many websites are still designed the old way, to be viewed primarily on a desktop monitor.

Our new format should benefit readers in more ways than one. Pages are automaticaly resized and re-configured to fit the smaller screens of mobile devices. No need to zoom in and out to navigate the site and read the articles. We’ve also done away with the dark blue background; its now black text over white.

The revised layout is clean, unpretentious and suitable for both desktops and mobile devices. Content-wise, Marine Café Blog has not changed. We still serve it hot and strong. And there’s still no decaf on the menu. ~Barista Uno
