Amazing Grace by Roger McGuinn

'Amazing Grace' was written by John Newton, an English slave trader who survived a storm at sea and later became an Anglican minister. Britannica explains how Newton came to write the popular Christian hymn: "On March 10, 1748, Newton was steering his ship through a fierce thunderstorm when he prayed to God. When he made it through the storm, he attributed his safety to the grace of God. It was this event that started his conversion...".
