Beyond the Sea by Buddy Clark (remastered)

Buddy Clark (1912-1949), an American singer from the Big Band era, sang 'Beyond the Sea' on his radio show in August 1948. The melody is based on the classic French song 'La Mer' from 1947 by Charles Trenet, but the lyrics are completely different. 'Beyond the Sea' is sung from the point of view of a sailor who longs for his beloved and vows never to sail again when they are reunited.
