On the Shore by Susan Coolidge (poem, oral reading)

'On the Shore' is a poem about renewal and hope written by American poet Susan Coolidge (pen name of Sarah Chauncey Woolsey,1835 –1905). The penultimate stanza reads: "Then suddenly out of the mist-cloud dun,/ As touched and wooed by unseen sun,/ Again into sight bursts the rose of light/ And opens its petals one by one."
