Pay Me My Money Down by Roger McGuinn
'Pay Me My Money Down' originated as a song of black stevedores working in the Sea Islands off the U.S. state of Georgia. Unscupulous ship captains would tell the dockers to load or unload their vessels, promising to pay them the next day. But on the night prior, they would leave harbour without paying. This version is by American folk singer Roger McGuinn, part of his Folk Den project. Mr. McGuinn has made the song available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States Licence . ((2.9 MiB, MP3, 1:58 minutes)
