'Pirate Song" is the most famous work of American composer Henry F. Gilbert ((1868–1928). First published in 1902, it adopts words from Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Treasure Island' with additional stanzas by Alice H. Hyde. According to the Song of America website, the song "was immensely popular and was even performed for President Franklin D. Roosevelt at the White House."
