Sailing to Byzantium by W. B. Yeats (oral reading in MP3)
In 'Sailing to Byzantium', the Irish poet William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) uses a journey by sea to Byzantium (Constantinople) as a metaphor for his spiritual quest. Yeats gives poignant expression to his thoughts about ageing, youth, immortality, and art. The poem was read by Greg Bathon for Librivox. (2.1 MiB, MP3, 2:16 minutes)
