In this compelling book published in 1920, Ernest Shackleton recounts the feats of endurance of those who took part in his last expedition.The famous British explorer had attempted to make the first land crossing of the Antarctic continent, but the venture failed. Out of the 56 men who left for the South, three were killed and five wounded. The book contains photographs by the Australian photographer and adventurer, Frank Hurley.
