Visionary yacht designer Richard Sauter, whose creations we’ve featured a couple of times, may not remain a maritime Don Quixote for long as he seems on the verge of finally realising his dream. Dutch-owned Atlantic Motoryachts of the Inmarcon BV group is taking the lead in building a new series of 10- to 22-metre “ultra green express cruisers” – the first of which will be Mr Sautler’s Atlantic Sea Hawk. We’re almost going bonkers. The hottest maritime buzzword has invaded cyberspace like the Great Plague – repeated over and over in Twitter and other social networking sites, company websites, discussion boards, online news publications and blogs. It’s endemic, too, on terra firma – chanted in maritime conferences, seminars and workshops. Mantras are beautiful and magical but we’d rather see their use confined to meditation and some such activity. (more…)
