The Old Skipper (remastered)

'The Old Skipper' was sung and recorded in 1937 by Captain Pearl R. Nye. who was born in 1872 and raised on a canal boat on the Ohio and Erie Canal. The singing is laid-back and the narrative, colourful and charming. This field recording is from the US Library of Congress with some remastering done by Marine Café Blog. (7.5 MiB, MP3, 4:19 minutes) See also Captain Nye's 'In a Storm at Sea'.
