Three anti-piracy options weighed

Piracy continues to bedevil international shipping. The problem is by no means limited to the Gulf of Aden or the Indian Ocean. Attacks have taken place off the coast of West Africa. In this article, written in March this year, the author presents some cogent arguments for the use of patrol escort vessels with trained crews versus the use of onboard security teams, whether armed or unarmed.
